“Fluidity”, “ordinariness” and “kindness”

The biggest change this year is that Jakob has started a position as head of the Digitalization Department of the Public Health Agency. With responsibility for developers, architects, testers, operations and customer service, and a mandate to build Swedish national digital infrastructure for better healthcare, he has left the calm 5-minute walk to Linköping City Hall and the position of Digitalization Director and now travels regularly to Stockholm and Kalmar when the home office is not enough. With an election in Sweden and ambitious requests from the clients, he looks forward to the coming time.

Sara continues, as the children describe, "closing schools" at the School Inspection despite the fact that it primarily involves the development of schools at a time when development work is needed most of all.

The children continue their respective schools. Ingrid is now finishing high school and will graduate in the summer (open house on June 16, welcome!). She is our big creator and innovator. Right now she is busy sewing dresses and clothing for "everyone and everything" - and it looks good. Axel mostly thinks about Astrid, eating, sleeping and playing volleyball. He will start high school in the fall. Cajsa has one year left before she starts middle school - a girl who is starting to grow up and become big. Many activities and sports on the schedule together with a really active book-life and design of properties in Sims. Everything takes time and requires care.

Despite an intense year of volleyball, we have squeezed in many friends and managed to travel a bit. A wonderful ski Easter in Norway and sunshine in early June in Spain were only overshadowed by the children's constant mischief. Not only do they ski away from their parents on the slopes - they also have the "impudence" to challenge and win against old guys in volleyball. Axel and Måns, the son of Erik, finally got their victory against their fathers in the sand on the Spanish coast. Next year is a rematch. But note that in single-paddle, it is dad Jakob who is the winner over Axel, for now.

The summer continues to arrive in Sånnaboda starting on Midsummer and otherwise mostly all the time. There we get a calm and relaxed days that are unbeatable for the family. The desire for extravagant travels is still limited but will be challenged in the near future by beach volleyball that makes the family a traveling company. This year it was only with a stop at Tylösand for the national championship - but also a stop at Böda on Öland to pick up a beach volleyball confirmand. A fantastic fun event that brought the confirmands together greatly and provided a wonderful socialization throughout the spring and summer of volleyball. The confirmand engagement was concluded with a ceremony in Falköping, which could also very well be a place we have the opportunity to visit more during the next three years.

Dear friends - beyond this "changeability" and "ordinariness," you and "kindness" are still the part that warms us the most. With joy, we all get a year older, piece by piece. We have been able to participate in the first 50th birthday parties and look forward to continuing to meet all of you no matter what, even on our 50th birthdays, although it still takes a little while. And if it's not 50-year-olds, it will be 70 and 80-year-olds for the family. The party in Färna that gathered the Johansson family of Sara will not be forgotten soon... and if we can't celebrate when we are alive, we can do what we did when we celebrated Great-grandmother Siv, who would have turned 100, and the entire Johansson clan met in Ljungby for a wonderful activity day. Or why not celebrate all the students who come to visit us - there will be many occasions in Linköping, but one student to remember in particular is in Malmö with our old friends. Imagine the little ones graduating... The years fly by!!!

A small reminder for all of us to make each meeting as meaningful as possible by really listening to what we have to say to each other and sharing our thoughts and feelings or planning fun activities together that we can all look forward to. The Algulin family definitely wants to meet you more often than you do now - it will be easiest if you nerd out in the same nerdery that we have gotten into - but by all means make sure to stop by in Örebro, Linköping, or just give us a call. Let's create strong and meaningful relationships even if we only meet a few times a year.
